Bread with Japanese kanji
In the past, there was a bakery café in Tokyo‘s Ginza district that offered uniquely stamped bread. These premium loaves of bread had Japanese kanji characters stamped onto them, such as “夢” (dream), “香” (fragrance or aroma), and “和” (harmony).
Scenic Views from the Last Carriage of the Keikyu Train Line
I love looking at landscapes from trains. On the Keikyu train Line↗, I happened to be sitting in the last carriage. The scenery through the train window was beautiful, heading towards Kawasaki, Kamata, and Yokohama, framed by a summer blue sky and white clouds.
Inarizushi and Udon at Fushimi inari in Kyoto
On a recent trip to Kyoto, I had been planning to enjoy an Inarizushi and Udon noodle combo for lunch at Fushimi Inari Taisha.
Inarizushi is a classic Japanese dish made of vinegar-seasoned rice wrapped in a sweet and savory pocket of deep-fried tofu called ”aburaage”. The rice is gently seasoned and nestled inside the tofu pouch, creating a delightful blend of flavors and textures. It’s a popular and convenient snack.
Delicious Japanese lunch in Asakusa
Enjoyed a delicious kama-meshi (kettle rice) lunch in Asakusa. The flavors were amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect. Since ”kama-meshi” takes a while to cook, it’s a great opportunity to relax and enjoy some Japanese sake while waiting for the kama-meshi to be served.
